The NG orifice shipped and it's supposed to arrive Tuesday! We've had a very mild winter here thus far with the exception of a cold snap before Christmas...so this project may happen sooner than planned. The Broilmaster is on our second floor deck at the beach...there's no garage or indoor space to work on it. So weather is key.Jay, I am glad it all worked out for you. That will be a really nice add to your Broilmaster. I have a bunch of Broilmaster grill parts but never any time. I hope I can get one or two put together this summer.
Good idea. I have some slotted angle sitting around...think it's a bit thinner than that c-channel you have but would definitely improve things. Although, I don't move mine and it's actually hard fastened to the deck rail with a piece of galvanized floor bridging because of the wind. There are only 2 bolts holding the shelf to the fire box. Since the shelves are used to move the grill and I saw one that had ripped holes through the firebox I reinforced mine with some C-Channel I cut up to use as large washers.

Thanks Joe. Question...the only thing I did to convert from LP to NG was replace the orifice. I'm assuming the valve us identical for both/either??Nice - Sweet setup.
Yes I believe they are the same on Broilmasters. Thanks Joe. Question...the only thing I did to convert from LP to NG was replace the orifice. I'm assuming the valve us identical for both/either??
Thank you, Sir!Yes I believe they are the same on Broilmasters.
I mean for the side burner, not the main grill burners. I only changed the single orifice from LP to NG. My question is related to the valve for the side burner.Yes Broilmaster even sells the conversion kits
Yes. Actually funny thing even on Weber it's like that for side burnersI mean for the side burner, not the main grill burners. I only changed the single orifice from LP to NG. My question is related to the valve for the side burner.
In other words are the LP and NG valves the same but orifice sizes different?
Yes. Actually funny thing even on Weber it's like that for side burners
So if you see fit, school me please, Sir. Are LP and NG gas valves the same for burner manifolds too and the only difference being the flow of either gas through the orifice?Yes. Actually funny thing even on Weber it's like that for side burners
That answer is a little more sketchy as "it depends". If you're asking about the Weber grills. Answer is a definite maybe. Because unlike other mfgrs Weber did not ever see fit to being able to "convert" easily. Many (if not most) of their valves had quite different flow characteristics between NG and LP. You could modify an LP valve to work on LP but never the other way.So if you see fit, school me please, Sir. Larry, did you mean LP to NG???You could modify an LP valve to work on LP but never the other way.
I get it. The reason many others just provided or made readily available, the appropriate orifices and the valves were standardized. The reason I asked was because this Broilmaster side burner had two separate part #s on the box with check boxes for the NG model and LP model. Made me wonder why they just didn't sell it as a single model and include both orifices...but the risk manager in me realized the liability exposure and potential for confusion(and stupidity). That answer is a little more sketchy as "it depends". Yes. Darn fingers not working right. Sorry bout thatLarry, did you mean LP to NG???
