Birthday Cook Tri-Tip and Chicken Thighs

Had a dinner last night to celebrate my Son's and Grandson's birthday. Found some nice Prime Tri-Tips at Costco. Teamed them up with some Chicken Thighs, Yukon Gold Potatoes and Grilled Corn.

Just couldn't pass these up.

Seasoned one up with Montreal Steak Seasoning and Johnny's Seasoning Salt.

Rubbed the Thighs with Chef Merito's Chicken Seasoning.

On the WSM @ 225. Pecan Wood for smoke.

Chicken too.

Tri-Tip was done in about 55 minutes. Caught me a little by surprise. Yanked it off and foiled.

Got the potatoes and corn ready. Grilled the potatoes, indirect for about 45 minutes on separate kettle. Forgot the picture!

Sauced the Chicken about 20 minutes before pulling it. Sauced with Rufus Teague's Touch O' Heat.

Wow! Prime Tri-tip!!!! That is awesome!!! The whole meal looks great!!! Drooling at my screen at the moment!

Makes me want to hit the road, Cliff... you're only about 6 or 7 hours away. Great stuff! The only reason I would want to sign up w/ Costco is to get some of those prime cuts.

Beautiful!!! Happy late B-day to son and grandson! $10 a pound! Wow!!! I bet it was real delicious! Great cook!

Wow, Cliff! You nailed that tri-tip and the color on that chicken is tasty all by itself! Didn't even know there was "prime" tri-tip. :o We've had "choice" a few times and it's plenty tender, but "prime" just makes me jealous... Awesome meal with the corn and taters too! Perfectly done, Cliff.
