Beer.

However, they’re very popular right now and breweries are selling them by the barrels. I recall a local brewer that swore he’d never brew or sell one. His sales quickly dropped because he wasn’t offering what the consumer wanted. Today, that brewery got a new brewer and they offer a few varieties of ‘hazies’. Sales have skyrocketed.
That's a problem with starting any food business..... not what you want, it's what the customer wants. And sometimes ya just gotta suck it up, buttercup.

Happy Saturday everyone.

Went to one of Harland Brewing's tap rooms in the Bay-Ho/Morena area of San Diego. Never been. We first stopped at my favorite butcher shop, Siesel's Meats, to pick up steaks for Sunday, grabbed one of their deli sandwiches and walked over to Harlands to check them out.

I thought for sure it would be crowded at noon on a Friday - nope. Quiet, couple of others with their beers. Got a flight and came home with a couple of their beers to enjoy at home.

Hope everyone is having a good Saturday - first weekend of summer!

Breezy but clear and nice here. Enjoying some jazz on the rig and a crowler we picked up yesterday at Gravity Heights (local gastro pub/brewery)

Enjoy your weekend!

Love that glass!
A story to tell...was on a vacation along the Oregon Coast starting in Astoria - picked up a local newspaper that had an article on craft beer and how there are specific glass shapes for beer types - just like wine.

I thought, nfw, but then decided to buy some glasses purported to be for IPAs.

All my glasses are typical pub like pint glasses, but dang me if this shape didn't make a difference...well, I like to think so.

It does make for a pretty pour, regardless.

;)

Twenty years in the wine industry. Not saying the shape of the glass doesn’t make a difference, but Georg Riedel sure added to our tasting room profitability. Nothing like serving your customer a few glasses of wine and then selling them different glasses. Emotional purchases and alcohol go together like peanut butter and jelly. 😃
