Beer Brat's!

Hi everyone!
This is yesterday's cook. It was too hot here in San Diego yesterday for yard work so I ditched the yard work and decided to drink beer and grill up some brats!

This was the temp outside @ 5:12pm when I lit up the chimney.

Did this cook with twice the volume on Super Bowl Sunday and it turned out great. A real simple recipe I got from Cook Like a man.
This is the half portion 12 oz. of beer,1 tsp sugar, and 1/4 tsp black pepper.

First I grilled the onions on a non-stick pan

Got a good sear on the Brat's and moved them indirect before they popped!

Brat's and onions feeling happy in the beer mixture

Here it is plated. Toasted bun,Brat, onion,Dijon mustard, and another layer of onions. Love me onions!

Here is "The Bite" pic, looks dry in the pic but it was far from dry and had a great snap!

This how I did it and tastes real good! I would like to get educated from the members here who live in Brat Country and learn how the locals cook it!

Thanks for stopping by and have a safe& great week!!!

Greg, I would consider Wisconsin to be Brat & Beer Country... ****, when you vote, they hand you a ballot, a brat and a beer.
It don't get more American than that now, does it?

After looking at this post of photos you took, looks to me like you don't need none of that educated stuff you're talkin' 'bout...
DamnSam, I've been grillin' brats since I was 15 years old (when Jerry Ford was the prez)... your brats look tailgate perfect!

Maybe it's a Midwest thing (grew up in Ohio) but in my book you just can't beat a brat with grilled onions and spicy mustard. I'll even eat them cold for breakfast the next day. That last pic is making my mouth water.
