22.5"wsm Vs. Chicken

Doing a big chicken cook for a friend of mine. Here's two cases=16 chickens.

Rubbed down. And on the 22.5"wsm.

Six on each level for 12 chickens on the 22.5"wsm.

Had to call in reinforcements. 4 on the 18.5"wsm.

Well for my first big chicken cook it went pretty well. Smoked with pecan and took about 5hrs. I'd say the wsm's where the clear winner here. It was close, but once the old 18er came on in it was all over for those birds. Better luck next time chicken.
Thanks for looking! See ya next cook.

Wow! I haven't seen a chicken cook like that since the 80's. That is a lot of chicken. Looks like they came out super too!

I'm a pretty good backyard griller/smoker. I admit, however, that the prospect of having to do sixteen chickens at once, would be a definite challenge for me.

Congratulations on a fine cook!! I'm truly impressed, my friend!!

Good work and...

Keep on smokin',

The high school seniors from our church are having a dance party thing on Friday night and my friend is helping to put it together, and he asked me to cook these for pulled chicken sandwiches. This was actually the first 16 birds. I did 16 more for a total of 32 chickens.
