19 pound ribeye!

Cash and Carry our local restaurant supply had a smoking good deal on boneless rib eye so I picked up a 19 pounder. I divided the beast into 4 roasts. Then I took the skinny end one and sliced it into steak. I should have put it in the freezer so I could get a better cut before steaking it but I didn't have time. So the eyes wanted to separate oh well, all good.

Can't wait to see the ribeye roasts coming up. Makes me wish I'd have got the ribeyes yesterday - maybe next time.

Yeah I couldn't pass up the price. I really had to play Tetris to get the three roasts into the freezer. We'll have one in a few weeks and probably one in December. The third one I'm not sure yet. We'll see.

I want one! Screw a turkey!!!!
That's a nice piece of cow, I want to tie one and spin it on the rotisserie! Great big pile of beautifully baked potatoes, giant salad, stuffed tomatoes. Appetizers of bacon wrapped mushroom caps, goat cheese stuffed cherry peppers and a nice few bottles of "Egri Bikaver" to round out a feast!
The"Bull's Blood" red wine of Hungary! A tip of the hat to member Kristof!

Brother, you need a bigger knife! Buy big, cut carefully, best investment for the kitchen.

Case, that looks like a nice score! My favorite time of year is just around the corner.....when CostCo starts carrying bone-in ribeye sub-primals! I always get at least one, and do the same as you......roasts and a couple of monster steaks. You did right by that one, separating eye or not!

BTW, when I saw the title of your post, I was sort of expecting to see something like this....

I have a really nice big slicing knife that is currently at my inlaws. They needed it for a function they were hosting!

Speaking of inlaws and Turkey I was informed that turkey day will be at there house, and we are having spaghetti and meatballs.

Hence the reason I bought this beast! I'll be spinning one roast in the minitisserie for our thanksgiving the day after!!!!

Spaghetti and meatballs, ***???

Thanks Rich! Yeah I have kind of quit going to Costco. May not renew the membership. Cash and Carry really has all the bulk items I need & less of the bulk items that end up in the Costco basket that I don't need!

Wow! What a gorgeous sight. I felt like Pavlov's Dog when I saw those roasts. Like the beets and spuds for your wife too. You going to have any stuffing and green bean casserole with the spaghetti and meatballs?;)

Great score on that monster Ribeye Case, can't wait to see what you do with the roasts.

Thank you it's going to be tasty!

We'll have green beans with the roast the day after! I'm not a stuffing fan it's all about taters and gravy so there'll be that!

As for turkey day, I see a bunch of gin in my future. That should make the spaghettini and balls better!

Nice haul on the rib eye, wish we had a restaurant supply here but for us the best around here for meat is Costco.

Case-- After seeing your post, early Saturday morning I made a quick run to my Cash n' Carry in Bellevue, picked up a 19.38# Boneless Rib Roast/Choice for $7.59/lb. Wet ageing in the beer refrigerator and then it's going to be cut into some nice thick steaks and possibly a small roast. This is the third time that I have made the C&C run for steaks this way and haven't been disappointed yet. Oh, this also was the best price point so far!!! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
