You know you're getting old when...


 
I was driving home from work yesterday and saw a really old tv set that someone had put on the curb.

It brought back memories of my father.

I remember him removing the vacuum tubes from our tv one by one, writing down the number and location of the tube on a piece of paper, and going with him to the local store and testing them on a tube tester.

Every tube tested to find the bad one(s) and buying new tubes.

Back home, replacing the tubes, turning the tv and the look of satisfaction when the efforts were successful.

Just thought I would share this memory here.
