You know you're getting old when...

Fully agree. We have no cable or sat subscriptions. Other than the news (so much of it fiction) and some documentaries, that's it for us.

Old Kirk "Newkirk". Hogan's Heroes. To this day still one of my all time favs. I watch it every night. I time shift it so I always have at least 10 episodes in reserve. If I found a deal on DVD of the series I would buy it

.....old when you can't remember if you already posted this. Received this couple of months ago from an old high school friend.

Julie Andrews on turning 79

To commemorate her birthday, actress/vocalist, Julie Andrews made a
special appearance at Radio City Music Hall for the
benefit of AARP. One of the musical numbers she performed was 'My
Favourite Things' from the legendary movie 'Sound Of Music'.

Here are the lyrics she used:

Botox and nose drops and needles for knitting,
Walkers and handrails and new dental fittings,
Bundles of magazines tied up in string,
These are a few of my favourite things.

Cadillacs and cataracts, hearing aids and glasses,
Polident and Fixodent and false teeth in glasses,
Pacemakers, golf carts and porches with swings,
These are a few of my favourite things.

When the pipes leak, When the bones creak,
When the knees go bad,
I simply remember my favourite things,
And then I don't feel so bad.

Hot tea and crumpets and corn pads for bunions,
No spicy hot food or food cooked with onions,
Bathrobes and heating pads and hot meals they bring,
These are a few of my favourite things.

Back pain, confused brains and no need for sinnin',
Thin bones and fractures and hair that is thinnin',
And we won't mention our short shrunken frames,
When we remember our favorite things.

When the joints ache, When the hips break,
When the eyes grow dim,
Then I remember the great life I've had,
And then I don't feel so bad.

(Ms. Andrews received a standing ovation from the crowd that lasted
over four minutes and repeated encores.)

Your getting old when you wake up & both your parents have went to the other side. And then with in the next 2-3 years the people you respected & knew on this site start passing on also. Bob Correll, Cliff Bartlett & so on. And in the future there will be more. Pretty soon you look around in life & most people you see are younger than you. You start becoming the "old person" where ever you go. You start to realize how many people are coming up behind you to replace you eventually.
Any way that is the way that it works. This is how I realize I'm getting older.

That’s really true, another well respected fellow has gone to the larger life in American music as well, RIP Roland White, he passed on 04-01-2022 one of the kindest fellows it was my privilege to meet and sing with.
