Last night sitting around watchin TV SWMBO says: You know the last time we went camping you kinda had a tough time grilling everything.
Me: Whadaya mean....I did everything to perfection. Steaks, Chicken, Sausages....Corn on the Cob, Bread, Taters and Onions....
SWMBO: No, I mean on that small grill.
Me: (Not knowing where this is going) Yeah....
SWMBO: I think you need a bigger grill for the upcoming Atlanta trip.
Me: The 22" OTS is great on camping trips but kinda a pain getting it in and out of the camper. And remember that time it tipped over?!?! What a hassle!
SWMBO: You need something bigger than our little grill though.
Me: You know, they make an 18" Jumbo Joe that would fit nice. It's a bigger version of the Smokey Joe we have had for years. And the lip snaps on. And it's more stable because it's lower to the ground and the legs don't have wheels. And it's bigger. And...
SWMBO: We NEED one.
ME: YES. WE. DO.
So today while at work, she sends me a link to the Weber Jumbo Joe web site and says, "They have them at Home Depot."
ME: "You wanna stop on the way home?"
SWMBO: "Sure"
Well, Home Depot didn't have one. She says, "You wanna go to Wally World?"
ME: Not Really. ...but we do. ...and they did. YESSSSS!
I put it together in maybe 5 minutes. Fired up a Chimney of lump. Seared a bacon wrapped beef tenderloin roast in cast iron. Added some mushrooms to a little bit of the bacon grease and placed the roast in a rack over the 'shrooms. Served it up alongside a baked tater and some horseradish sauce.
On the way home SWMBO says, "You know, you always get Webers."
YES. I. DO.
Fire up the cigars boys. Daddy brought home a new family member. Jumbo Joe goodness.
