Where Can you Buy Wooden Handles?

Just got my 22.5" Weber and am looking at replacing the plastic handles with wooden ones. Who is currently making handles for the kettles and where can I buy?? Thanks!!

Pat's second link, to the Weber Kettle Club, features TVWBB Brian O'Neill who does an excellent job on these Weber replacement wood handles.
If you're looking for a custom job, he'll do that also. In a variety of woods too.

Thanks for this link. At 8 bucks a pop, these are awesome oak handles. I don't think the replacement plastic handles are this cheap.

Thanks for the links guys! I wonder if I can have him make me a set in cypress? I might look into that, I've got the material or maybe that should be a winter project to sit my the fire and whittle, hmm. Time and material I do have!

The finished white oak ones came today! At first inspection, they are a great deal! I may go down and borrow some shop time from my cabinetmaker buddy and knock out a full set in cypress to match my table! The oak ones are a very good value!

Not to be too picky for only $8...but I'm going to be picky for a minute. The groove that accepts the thickness of the metal bracket is cut into the top half of the handle, which is wrong. When cut into the bottom half, the groove is not visible when the handle is assembled. A small detail, to be sure, but not done like the original handle.

Good point Chris! I spend a lot of time with mandolin people and the attention to details of "original parts is a huge thing with them.
Since these will be going on as replacements for the "resin fiber" handles, originality isn't quite as critical and besides, they were just $8.00 as you say.
When I make my cypress ones, I'll make the detail right!

I took y kettle to a festival many years ago and had about a dozen thumped drumsticks cooking away nicely and someone walked past and said,"poor guys" I took one off after they were ready and found the people and shared. The next year there were no fewer than four kettles doing turkey drums!
From a background of "cornbread and beans" coming out of many elaborate campers, the grill was an abnormality back then. But, I'm an addict we have established that!

BTW Chris, should you ever find yourself in the neighborhood, I can get a little music together, we can have a grill and swill in any time, that goes for most any of you folks! I had a member of another forum to dinner when he was in town. Interesting, it turned out that the guy was my wife's boss's boss! She got flack about that for months! It was a lot of fun, it was February two years ago, temp was -9 outside, fire in the fireplace took six hours to warm the back room to "pickable" temperature, the pork roast needed about an extra hour too!
Two things I enjoy, playing,music and grilling!
