When Family Comes to Town

R.I.P. 1/26/2024
My Brother from another mother that I discovered 7 years ago brought his wife down from St. Louis for a few days visiting. Coincidentally, our son was visiting yesterday from Raleigh, NC and he got to meet them for the first time. Our daughter and her husband joined us for dinner. I did a 6.5 lb. Boston Butt and the usual BBQ sides. I injected and put the rub on 20 hours before the cook. I used the Chris Lilly recipes for those. Cooked the Butt for 9 hrs. at 250 and it probed like butter at 196 IT. A 3 hour rest in the cooler and it fell apart when I squeezed it. I pull pork with my gloved hands. The cook went smooth and I ran the EX6 without ever touching the pellets. The pulled pork was as good as I can do. I usually find something to critique but todays Butt was moist, tender, and delicious. I got busy with getting dinner on the table and forgot an after cook photo. Instead I'm giving an after dinner photo5-21-22 Pulled Pork 2.jpg5-21-22 Pulled Pork 3.jpg5-21-22 pulled pork 4.jpg

Looks great Lew!
And some snackage left over ain't a bad thing either :)

That looks great Lew. I haven't done a B butt in about two years, but I got one defrosting now hope I remember how to cook it.

I have no doubt that you will nail the cook. However, the danger for me is that I may forget that I defrosted the meat. :ROFLMAO:
