We Finally Got to Drink the Wine

A little over a year ago Barb and I helped a forum member get some (actually) a lot of parts for his Weber’s that weren’t available or very expensive in Australia.
It was a lot of fun hunting up the parts and getting them shipped to Stephen.

Stephen found out that Barb and I are wine nuts and he wanted us to have a good bottle of Australian wine on him. He recommend a good Mollydooker, but no can find anywhere around here. So I contacted my daughter who works for Trader Joe’s in California. When I told her what I was looking for she was surprised. She informed me that yes they had it in the store and it was an excellent wine as she has had a few times and really enjoyed it. She recommend the Boxer a 2013 Shiraz.
So she bought the bottle for us and we figured we would get out to see them and the grand kids in a month or so.

Over a year later due to life getting in the way we finally got out there. My daughter has a good wine cellar so the wine was in good hands for that year.
Last night we finally had our wine and a couple of nice grass fed steaks to go with it. Now we’ve had good wines from Australia before but this was the best wine we’ve ever had.
Stephen when you read this the journey finally is over and thank you again for your generosity.

Stephen could not have found better people to pal up with. Enjoy the fruits (liquid) of your friendship

Enjoyed your other thread showcasing the cook. Very nice of you guys helping a forum member out.

I agree: Mollydooker is a very good line of wines. Try their 'Two Left Feet' if you get a chance.

Rich, where in CA? Wondering if my local TJ's has this.....haven't had any Shiraz in a while. :)

Rich, it's the Long Beach store. I know none of the TJs in AZ had it. If you can find it it's well worth it. The actual name of the wine is Mollydooker "The Boxer"

Hi Barb and Rich,

1. A fine grass fed steak skilfully cooked on a Weber. Check

2. Well chosen and prepaired sides. Check

3. A nice Shiraz to wash it all down. Check

I so love it when a plan comes together.

This world can be such a grand place to live on.... thank you Rich and Barb- good friends, good food, good wine......good times!

I love all the Mollydookers and the Shiraz is a favorite. Glad y'all enjoyed it

BTW my first bottle was from a recommendation from Kevin Kruger.
