War Dept. Wingette's

Sunday I was too busy watching football games all day to do any grilling. So the war dept said she would grill today.
Oh boy, I can't wait. Here are the seasonings for the wingettes.

Here are the wing ette's trimmed & seasoned in the bag for a overnight stay in the fridge.

Threw the wings onto the performer over stubbs & lump charcoal. Had a lot of high heat. Had to be quick.
And keep the wings moving.

Cooking away with homemade onion rings & hash brown patties.

Wings are in BBQ sauce in pan. The other resting indirect heat.

Here is the war dept doing her wings. Notice she has a glove from the heat coming off the grill.

Wings are done, hash browns were just right. Onion rings became a appetizer. I enjoyed all during the morning & afternoon games
The Vikings blew it. But my Broncos hung on for another win. 2 & 0 baby, I'll take it.
Should be fun in Seattle next Sunday.

The war Dept did a great job. After all I got to sit on my butt, drink beer & watch NFL games.
Definitely old grill goat approved.

You were really pampered,Russ. Your wife did a great job! The wings were great. Loved the onion rings. Never even thought about hash browns on the grill. Will definitely have to try it!

Congrats to the War Department on some great cooking.
 
Looks like a great plate of food. I had to purchase the Lady of the House some gloves for when she is cooking on her gasser.

Well Jim after 36 years together if you haven't had a few wars with your better half, you are not enjoying life like we have.
Actually it's a name of respect. My uncle a WW2 veteran who walked all of Italy in fighting the Germans all the way always called his wife the War Dept.
That's where I picked up the nick name. As you know I just have a different since of humor and I just like to have a little fun in life.
That is why she calls me the Old Grill Goat. Just something different for the site.
Oh and she reads all of these & keeps up with them.

when I was a little kid working summers up north Pulaski Wisconsin on my Uncle (GodFather) Richie's farm, he would called my Auntie Helen "Główka"
never understood it and always thought he was calling her bad names:o
 
Deb did good Russ...you are a lucky man!! Love it!! Glad you guys have a good sense of humor...that's what makes a happy couple!

I think u need "the war dept" too take over the grill and posting!! Love to see it!
