We did the roadside tri tip the other night and had a hunk of it left. The Sous Chef wanted to cook so here we go. Pretty simple recipe to make. Baked some taters scoop out the guts. Saute some veggies and make a simple beef stock gravy. Fill taters with meat veggie gravy mix. Top with tater guts and bake in 350° oven until golden on top. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Oh yeah there was enough filling and tater topping to make a mini pie for my lunch today!

Now that looks like a down home, hearty meal. Fantastic cook for the Sous Chef and his Daddy. Very creative meal Case.

Your Sous Chef could be on Masterchef Junior in a few years.
Nice knife skills and he seems to enjoy the whole cooking thing.
Pass me a plate of that goodness please.

Case, your Sous Chef is doing a fantastic job and that looks so delicious.
Just pass a plate this way, and anything else he decides to make is ok with me.
Again fantastic job and keep up the great work.

The only thing more impressive than your cooks, are your son's cooks. That's some mighty fine looking pie

Good job! Oh, how I long for my children to enjoy working in the kitchen. Alas, they do not. :( You have a good boy there who is learning valuable skills early. Congratulations!
