I wish I kept my 99 4runner
Ours was an '84, one of the first ones introduced into the US. It had the carbureted 22R I4 and the solid front axle with leaf springs. The '85s introduced fuel injection and independent front suspension. We loved that car.

Very few pictures, but lots of good memories. I should mention we paid just under $15k out the door, brand new, in 1984.

84 solid axles are highly sought after for the rock crawlers.

swap in dual transfer cases and it didn't matter that it only had 115HP
 
Our first German Short-haired Pointer, Doc, was like that. The first time out, with the breeder present, we shot near the dog and the dog took off running for the next county. The breeder chased him down and gave us a dog from another litter. We were told that Doc was placed with an elderly couple with a farm and lots of acreage to spend the rest of his days running free...
