Coarse gravel would have a

of -4 to -5 on the Krumbein phi scale. Anything with a

less than -8 classifies as a boulder. Based on the international scale, coarse gravel (CGr) is only 20-63 mm. A large boulder (LBo) is anything greater than 630 mm. Using the orange barrels for scale, this geologist must say that sign is bollocks; those are boulders.

I'd say what color, red or green?
They'd say I dunno, red I think. I'd say well you better go ask cause all I have is green.
They usually never came back.

I hear you, I work at Refineries in the LA Basin and have watched a few try to accomplish this feat.

I actually witnessed a relative of this 30+ years ago, in a small hotel restaurant at breakfast. I was travelling with 2 stylish ladies to the company's Tennessee plant, and the cashier remarked on their "chick" outfits. Took me about 10 minutes to finally realize that she actually meant chic (pronounced completely differently.)
