Thanksgiving at Home First Brine

Barb and I had a quiet Thanksgiving at home this year. The kids in California were working or had made other plans, so this was a great time to try something new.
We have never brined anything before so we decided to try a recipe out of the Weber book “Weber’s Charcoal Cooking.” Brined and Barbecued Turkey with Pan Gravy. Followed the recipe except I cut the salt in half due to the fact the bird was already enhanced.
Did the bird on the performer with apple wood and it was the best bird we have ever had and the Gravy was excellent

Barb made her great homemade pumpkin pie and another batch of Christmas cookies.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving.

Oh my doodness. (That's the way my grandson says it). Looks awesome! Raddy looks like I did during that first football game. LOL

Nice work team Dahl! I was getting ready to ask what kind of squash is that in the plated pic, an' than realized it was a sweet potato.
