Swindled in Texas


 
Bought a brand new WSM 22 on Craig's List. Still in the box. I bought it. I was really excited to upgrade from my 18. Well the box had been dropped & the lid was bent in & won't fit flush over center section. I was mad at myself to be so trusting. Should've inspected it. Live & learn

Call Weber CS. They just might hook you up because it was new. Worst they can do is say no, it'll be $????. Good looking chicken though!
 
It will probably excel at high heat cooks.
Actually, bummer. That sucks.
Try registering it with Weber.
If that works, get in touch with customer support.
They may help you out.

Definitely call Weber. I bought cabinets for my Genesis that had a broken door magnet. Called them & they said they have it in stock & told me the cost. I told them it was new & I received it damaged. No problem. Sent it to me no charge. Same thing with my wsm cover. Had small tears in crease. Called them & shipped out a new one no questions asked. Very good to work with.

That sucks. Grab a rubber mallet and a block of wood and carefully hammer the dent out of it. Won't be perfect, you can probably get it pretty close. If you are kind of handy, you can scribe the lid arc onto a piece of 2x4 and cut out a template.

Back up the outside on a sandbag and, be careful but, you can probably "persuade" it back into shape.
The fact that it arrived damaged is unpleasant. Was this from a dealer? Contact them too, too bad Weber was not so accommodating.
 
Great buy Kemper and like everyone else said give Weber a call. I'm sure Babygirl enjoyed her dinner.
 
I called Weber & they said since I bought nit from an individual the warranty is not transferable. The center section is out of round as well. the cost of a new lid & center section is $277. She discounted it down to $202. I took the deal. She mailed it out today so in a few days Ill be a happy guy again. Looking forward to cooking on my new 22 when everything gets here. Thanks for all the advice.
