Summertime on a plate

When she was growing up back in Ohio, SWMBO's dad used to grill sausage patties and serve them on a bun with a slice of tomato. To us, for over two decades, Summertime would not be Summertime without it. This is my take.

2 -ish pounds pork butt
3 teaspoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
3 teaspoons finely chopped fresh sage leaves
3 teaspoons finely chopped fresh thyme leaves
1 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary leaves
1 tablespoon light brown sugar
1 teaspoon fresh grated nutmeg
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Fresh ground pork butt

served with a slice of tomato, chips, and pickles on a paper plate. Pure Summertime!

Oh yeah, Dwain. Summer time completely. Those patties look delicious and the pickles and chips and tomato make it complete! Thanks for the recipe too.
 
Fantastic Dwain! My oldest brother used to do something very similar and he is really the one I have to thank for my grilling addiction...so this brings back some great memories! Sausage patties coming soon! Wish I had one off your brews right now!
 
Dwain thats looks great, it says 1 TBS of brown sugar, looks like an ice crean scoop!!!!!, very nice combo there I like it
