Well I finally did some smoked burgers, I can honestly say my life has changed, can't eat it another way now, lol. They were half beef, half pork. Can't wait to add venison into the mix.

Those look awesome! Ground meat really takes on the smoke so you gotta take it easy on the wood chunks, but I enjoy heavy smoke sometimes.

Those look good,, I've done high heat burgers with smoke but never tried them on the WSM L&S, going to fix that.

Burgers look really good. How long were they on the smoker? Assuming you were using an 18.5, and depending on the cook time, if you only smoked the burgers, do you feel like it was worth the investment in time and setup compared to just grilling them over charcoal? Just wondering.

To the Questions, I had planned on smoking then searing......they were looking so good I just left them on smoke mode. They were 50/50 pork and beef, a couple had onions mixed in, couple plain, couple with onions and jalapenos.

I used a chunk of Apple with a couple small bits of Hickory, 200-225, with a burst of full open vents near the end. Took about an hour from start to finish.......use a instant thermometer to check, at about 150-155 is when I opened the vents to max out the heat, put cheese on when temp was between 160-165 and then pulled them.

As to the question was it worth it.......well, a regular burger just doesn't sound right anymore, the smoked burger was the best i ever had as far as taste is concerned

Yes, it was on a 18.5, one large chimney of coals with a few briquets on top just to be cover my ***.

Nice burger smoke Dave.

Smoked some meat loafs, but never burgers , have to give that a try.

Forgot to mention that even with a whole bunch of freshly diced Jalapenos in my burgers, I could not taste them, I think the smoke negated the bite....not sure on that, was looking forward to the lil' kick with the smoke
