Hi Everyone!
It's been awhile that I cooked Tri-Tip. Prices been outrageous on Tri Tips lately and they were on sale this week! Thanks John Solak for the info!
Sometime ago I was looking thru Harry Soo's recipe on his website and decided to do a take on Harry's Texas Toast Tri Tip Sandwich.Heres the link http://www.slapyodaddybbq.com/2014/07/texas-toast-tri-tip-sandwich-independence-day-celebration/
I did somethings different. Substituted Harry's rub with Tatonka Dust and I am not real good with reverse sear so I did what was comfortable to me which is Sear n slide.Other than that I pretty much followed the recipe.

I know I wasn't in Hibernation but haven't seen prices like this in a while!

And the money shot! almost perfect medium rare. Wife loved it! I asked her like 4 times

Dressed with Harry Soo's sauce and plated with simple red potatoe salad


The cook turned out great! And Harry Soo's sauce was great as well!

That's a great looking Tri Tip sandwee! Sure wish they'd go on sale here! I splurged a bit ago and paid $6.99/lb for two at Costco. That's the best price I've seen in a long time.
 
Great looking Tri Tip! Like that sauce too. Albertson's huh, they closed both of ours and left town. Glad to see they're still kicking.
 
Greg, if anyone has/had an issue with that cut of meat....the problem isn't the tri-tip, and they should re-evaulate their lives. :)
