I wouldn't have one but it is kinda cool.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I was thinking the same.I wouldn't have one but it is kinda cool.
I like both the boss and regional manager. I’ve known the RM for about 15 yearsI would not give them that much notice unless you don't care if they boot you.
Plenty of young men walking around with backpacks doing nothing now-a-days. Can't figure it out.I moved to Charlotte in 1995 and have been in the battery business ever since
I was warehouse guy for a couple years, then drove a truck for 20+ years
They made me the customer service rep about 4 years ago, and it’s been up and down, depending on who the he manager had been
This last year has been especially crazy
We moved into a new facility along with another local branch in February
Late April, our most recent warehouse manager quit, which really wasn’t a surprise to us. We’d known that he was in over his head for a while!
Because of his inaction, a temporary worker quit right after they had to fire 2 drivers!
This week has been extra extremely nuts!
2 of our warehouse guys were not only fired, they were arrested for stealing!
I’m really upset about this, as I’ve known them for 10 and 14 years!
Needless to say, I got roped into pulling orders in the warehouse this week.
Wednesday, I could barely move after we got done!
This has prompted me to decide to retire the end of September, after being the CSR for 4 years. I wanted to do it for another year, but with the uncertainty of my position, I can’t do it anymore
I’ll let the boss people know mid July after beercation
Here’s to the next chapter!
I would like to know where you could find a $15k house in 1980
My father purchased a home for $5000 in 1979. He borrowed an extra $12,000 to remodel it including, new duct work, new furnace, new roof, new porches, new windows, new wiring, new breaker panel, new paint inside and out (we did the inside).I would like to know where you could find a $15k house in 1980
That’s around what my sister and her husband paid early eighties in Ashville NC, iirc.I would like to know where you could find a $15k house in 1980
No such thing in Chicago area back then. Maybe way out here west side of Rockford. Heck you can still find close to that. And then don't forget those 15% to 20% interest rates. Recall back in early 60s (just before high school) dad bought new house in Morton (Moron as I call it) Grove. He paid just shy of $22k. But he had to do much work himself (thankfully uncles and grandfather were in the "trades" and knew other people who would moonlight for cash. The house had no flooring in lower level, uncles and grandpa did terrazzo, no garage, no driveway and no finished back yard. Uncles poured driveway with grandpa, then my uncle found some laborers who could brick lay and do carpentry and so a garage was built, a few years later after having only a dirt yard, IIRC it was 67 just before the blizzard, they were able to take advantage of an incredible string of warm weather and lay sod which was abruptly buried under 27 or so inches of snow during the blizzard in 67. Then a number of years later a patio was done. IIRC it wasn't until the 70s he finally finished everything. That’s around what my sister and her husband paid early eighties in Ashville NC, iirc.
Property values have gone up since then…
