Pork Belly And Steamed Buns

Yesterday, Pammi mentioned that we had some pork belly in the freezer, and that she'd REALLY like me to make some for dinner tonight. Okay. I can do this!
There were actually 2 pieces in the package we got from our favorite butcher counter, totaling about 4 pounds. I seasoned half of one piece with SPOG and onto the kettle with a snake. No wood. Low and slow for about 3 hours and we wound up with this!

And Pammi decided she wanted steamed rolls like you get at an asian place to go with it, so she made these!

It looks raw, but that was a pillow of air!

Then she took over the rest of dinner. Belly sliced and fried up like super thick bacon to crisp it up. Then served on a pillow with cole slaw, cilantro, bean sprouts and some hoisin sauce. OMGoodness!!!

I'm pretty sure that was the BEST meal we've ever tag teamed on! Even better? Bacon is curing in the fridge for smoking next weekend!

That looks so goooood and I'm sure mighty tasty. Would Pammi share her recipe for the rolls with us, love to have it. You two did great need to do that more often.

Good job Phil & Pammie. Great looking sandwich! Will have to try something like that when we get ready to do our next pork belly, which will be soon.
