I tell you, things sometimes just don't go right. I know, Waah, Waah. My son was going to have us over yesterday for an nice early Father's Day BBQ. He was going to do three racks of baby backs, and a couple of sides. I offered to bring over a tray of my bbq beans as my contribution. Spent most of yesterday morning on prep work and getting ready. Early after noon he called and he'd been called in to work. It ran longer than anticipated so we just called it off. We both had plans for today so we never did get together. I finished off the beans in the OTS this afternoon and will freeze them for future distribution. My wife is making me Puttanesca tonight for my special dinner. Here's a few shots of the beans.

Got one lb. of Farmland Bacon cut up. Was going to use brisket but I'm all out.

Got it going in CI skillet on OTS.

Bacon done.

Here's my ingredients, including chopped sweet onion, chopped red bp, chopped pablano, minced garlic, chopped green bp.

Beans all mixed and ready for grill. Ended up putting them in fridge for night.

OK, on the grill today.

Beans are done after one hour. Hit them with a little cherry smoke.

Well, that's it. Nothing plated, as they never hit the plate. Thanks again for looking. Happy Father's Day everyone!

Sorry your day didn't work out as planned, but those are some mighty fine looking beans. The bright side will be when you can pull those out of the freezer on a future barbecue and not have to worry about making a side.

bummer it didn't worked out as planned. However, I gotta say, kids loss as you nailed those beans. They look like a meal to themselves!

Sorry your plans fell through brother, many a missed event in my life do to work, make up the time and don't let it pass w/o doing it. The Beans look superb, nice recipe

I hate it when work gets in the way of having fun. Those are some killer beans, officially on my to do list!!! Great pictures, Great Cook!

Thanks everyone. Forgot one thing. There is also a 1/2 cup of Dijon mustard in the mix. Forgot to show that on the ingredients pic.

Sorry to here that your day with your son got cancelled. But on the brighter side those beans look outstanding!
