Pan Seared Salted Ribeye on the Grill

I can't remember the last time I had a steak so I had to fix that issue today.

Picked up a couple of bone in ribeyes

Applied a good dose of salt to each steak

30 minutes later rinsed the salt off of the steaks and dried them the best I could. Kind of hard to tell in the pic but the steaks are redder and they have an almost leather feel to them.

Fired up the grill, and got a CI skillet screaming hot and cooked both steaks one at a time. I cooked my Wife's steak 4 min per side and mine 2.5 minutes per side. My steak is what is pictured after the flip

Steaks resting

Used some of the fat drippings from the CI pan and made a quick gravy

Half the steak served with mashed potatoes, the gravy and sauteed green beans cooked in my wok.

Wow, John! Perfect caramelization on those steaks and gravy too? I'm coming over for leftovers!

With good quality beef, sometimes salt is all you need. Perfect crust on those steaks…the Maillard Reaction is a beautiful thing. Just a gorgeous plate of food, John.

Ok! Hold on! That looks delicious and all, but you cooked it in a ci skillet!? Not over the coals on the grill? I just got to give ya some grief over that! What's next? Electric grilling? Lol! Just having fun. Fine lookin meal.

Sir it's beautiful ...
