Our New Year's Eve Tri Tip

Cliff Bartlett

R.I.P. 5/17/2021
Had this little guy hanging around in the freezer since November. Decided to thaw it out and do it up with a couple of Russets and green beans.

Tri Tip was just under two pounds.

Seasoned with an AP Rub and Montreal Steak Seasoning.

Did a reverse sear couple minutes each side.

Moved it to indirect and threw on the potatoes.

Green beans, oil, garlic and K-salt. About 10 minutes.

Rest.

When I use a heavy rub, I usually score the back side to mark my slice cross grain. Forgot to do that this time and paid the price. Good thing it was a prime roast as it was fine.

Plated.

This was a delicious dinner to ring in the New Year. Happy New Year everyone and have a great, safe weekend. Thanks for looking.

Cliff, you could have looked back at your first pic for grain run.
One demerit, since you're a CA guy. :p
But two thumbs way up for a great looking cook!

Cliff that looks so delicious, awesome New Years dinner. have a great week end also and Happy New Year to you and the family.

Great cook Cliff, wish I had that instead of the dog food section bone in NY strips steaks we had. Had to break out the saws all to cut em.
