On my own tonight....

Well, the wife went to dinner with her coworkers and I decided I didn't need to listen to them all complain about work for 2 hours so I stayed home and made my own dinner tonight. Wings and cast iron au gratin potatoes.

Setup the SSP indirect, all vents wide open.

Went an hour and a half on the cook for both the wings and the potatoes. Last five minutes I glazed the wings with Blues Hog Raspberry Chipotle sauce.

Some of the best wings I've ever made. The meat literally fell off the bones. This sauce has instantly become my new favorite wing sauce.

Not a bad little meal for some "me" time.

Looks great!

What do you have the charcoal in? Is that a vortex of some sort, or, just a pan?
It's a vortex with the big side up. I have a Bro 'n Sear but I find myself using the vortex so I can just light the coals using my gas assist right in the vortex. I'm just being lazy. Lol

When “Lucullus dines with Lucullus” he has his best conversations.
I used to get that time the first night at the cottage, now, we all end up there the same night so, that is gone, I don’t mind, the grandchildren are fun to be around!
