using of all things: a frustum. Yes... another frustum wing cook.

Slathered in mayo & then rubbed. Placed on an old 14" chrome grate.
Stubbs & cherry for heat.

Wife sez: Best Ever!!!

Robert-R;
Nice job with the wings! I really like my Jumbo Joe, too (I am using a home made "frustrum" with great satisfaction:o).

Keep on smokin',

Will have to give this Mayo a go. Normally I marinade them in Buffalo sauce, but this May sounds intriguing, and if the Wife says best ever, who am I to argue

Nicely done Robert

Thak you, Robert.
My frustum is home made, too. That's why I can't call it a Vortex.

Thanks, Chuck!
Actually... it was mayo with salt & pepper in a ziplock with the wings in the fridge for several hours.

Gee I didn't even know that I have a vortex and a homemade frustrum. Although the frustrum is much better at overwhelming the bodzidious before the contracting polynuims can exhibit an exit compared to the vortex due to the bionatical phase of the force field.
Like the simplicity of flappers too.

Nice try, Rich. It's not going to be me that googles those big words. Although I hope someone else here does. & reports back. :p

Those look great Robert! 11 wings would be enough for me but nobody else would have any dinner.

Robert, outstanding cook those wings are awesome. Yes Rich does have a way with words!!!!;)

I told my wife about this, and I got the stink eye look. I told her that your wife says it's the best ever, so let your bride know she's on the hook :)

Double checked with the wife. She says "Yep... Best Ever!" Use your favorite rub. I used Oakridge BBQ's Secret Weapon.

Looks great.
What type of metal would one use to make a homemade vortex like that? Basically, what is the minimum I would need and be able to bend without needing to worry about the charcoal destroying it?

I used 16 gauge mild steel. Clean it up after each use & give it a light coating of cooking oil to keep it from rusting. Should last a long time.
Cut a SS bowl from Wally World would be a lot easier.
