Busted. No, I have not made my own bacon. Yet. There's so much good bacon out there, I have a hard time getting motivated to make my own.

This Nueske's bacon is very good, but a tad strong for my taste when eaten alone. Great when buried in a BLT, the smoke flavor cuts through the bland L & T.

Peter Luger's in NYC sells bacon as an appetizer. IIRC, it kinda looked like that, although it was broiled instead of grilled.

Nueske's makes some of the best bacon but it's almost too good. It will overpower the flavor of anything you cook with it. We used to call and order cases of "seconds" until we discovered Ossian Bacon which is almost as good and much cheaper.

If you ever want to splurge, order some Nueske's but be forewarned. It will spoil you.
