New Weber pellet grills for 2020

I just downloaded the app. I think you’re right. I was hoping to see what’s in the app. Oh well!!

Yeah I was hoping too, sounds like they want to walk you through the cooks, which is fine with me. If I want just temps I can always use my thermoworks smoke, I have a brand new one I picked up in November. Not sure how much use it now with the smart hub and ex6 I ordered.

Stopped by Lowe’s on the way to breakfast with my kids and they didn’t have anything.

I am very happy so far. Have done reverse sear steaks and low n slow ribs (beef and pork). No issues with cooks, food turned out as expected. Held temps well. Still hate app though. I don’t want to have to pull out Fireboard when using the SmokeFire, but might have to. Hopefully over time...

I’m sorry all, I don’t have a Flickr account or I’d share some pics. If we weren’t days away from not needing them I’d consider creating one.

Well your the only one who has one so what is it you hate about the app? Can you adjust temp from the app?
 
Congrats Bruno! I haven’t found where to adjust temps in app. Think that’s coming later? The app is just not intuitive and not well designed.
 
That's sad that the stores get them before the people who preordered get theirs. I sure hope the app and the shipping get fixed soon, I know I would be frustrated to no end if I was in that position. Hopefully the grill will make up for Weber's screwups.

What’s the point of ‘exclusive’ pre-orders when run like this? It’s very frustrating, luckily I lived by a store that got one.
 
Well, I guess it is finally beginning! I am sorry for those who are waiting and definitely a little concerned about the first feedback on the app being so negative. Still, I am really looking forward to seeing a Weber SmokeFire in person when they finally make it down to Florida.

The complaints about the app sound like Weber was over-doing it on making this grill hold your hand all the way. That might be a blessing to some new to barbecue, but for me I like my Rec Tec app which does the basics simply and perfectly. I don't need recipes or it telling me what to do. Just tell me the temperatures (set, actual and probes), the temperature history, and let me make adjustments from my app. Rec Tec does all that very well and very reliably. WiFi based, so I can do it from my office:cool:.

Gotta agree with others its pretty weak I ordered mine on December 1st and Weber is sending them out to random Lowes.

it took me about 1hr 45mins... And I agree with you, I preorder mine as well. but just canceled today once I pick this one up.
 
Seeing that grill, wow it's super nice. Now we will finally hear the real world opinions of SmokeFires performance. Certainly hope words like excellent, great, perfect are used a lot.
 
Well, tomorrow, things should really start popping. Amazon still has tomorrow as their release date for the SmokeFire.
Good luck everyone that has a pre-order or is waiting for the release date to pull the trigger. I am sure the brick and mortar stores will be getting them in starting tomorrow or soon after as well.

I am not in the market, but I am looking forward to reviews, pictures and videos.
 
Very cool! What we have been waiting for is about here! I will ditto Bruce that pictures, video and honest evaluations are a must.

My EX6 says preparing for shipment, I hope that is true. I have a 4 day weekend coming up and that would be a perfect time to put it together and maybe do a cook or 2.

What are you looking to make for your first couple of cooks? I may start with spatchcock chicken on day one since I won’t have too much time. Then pork ribs and probably brisket after that.
 
Hey, any one know if they have rotisseries available for the Smokefire? It would be a must have IMO.
