New truck and a brisket.

Been a busy summer. Have not posted as often as I should. Between work and 2 kids under the age of two I just haven't made/had the time. But I'm still smoking and grilling just no photos. Had my 14 yo truck die last moth (timing belt broke) been looking for a "new" one ever since. Finally found a replacement and took a drive to the store for something to smoke.

Found this guy on sale. Did the HH method with some brisket rub from Oakridge BBQ. Smoked for a total of 6 hours at 375. Used oak and KBB.

Made the No.5 sauce with the drippings. I'm sold on the high heat method for brisket. This one turned out great.

$18 for a brisket? Lucky!
My wife and daughter asked for one and I thought I found a deal at $4.99/lb. Cost me $70 but I know they will be happy.

Nothing like a new vehicle in the driveway. At least that's what Kim tells me:). I'm still driving my 01 Yukon. The brisket looks perfect. I've never tried the high heat method but it sure looks good.
