Sorry about that first screwed up post. I have a love/hate relationship with Photobucket and right now it's mostly hate. Anyway, Happy Bratsgiving Everyone. Johnsonville's name, not mine. Had to do some Brats for the occasion.

Slice up some red, yellow and orange bell peppers. A purple onion too. Diced jalapeno and some fennel seed, salt and pepper. Of course I had to use Miller Beer.

The Brats.

Earlier in the day I made a potato salad as a side.

My son got me this mustard at the Gilroy Garlic Festival. Used it with the brats. Delicious.

Stewed the peppers and onion and spices in butter for around 15 minutes.

Added the beer and mustard to the pepper mixture and let simmer for another 15 minutes.

Moved the peppers to the cool side of grill and got the brats on direct for around 10 minutes.

Put the brats in with the beer pepper mixture for another 15 minutes.

If I'd only known today was the big day. We're having Brats Friday, oh well we'll keep the celebration alive. Got to ask why Miller, not that I have anything against it just curious? I've been using Trader Jose from Trader Joes really adds to the flavors.
I bet that mustard was good, nice cook.

Brewed in Wisconsin. Home of the Brats.

Outstanding cook Cliff those brats look yummy. Like Rich said we're having ours Friday. Salad looks awesome also.

Super killer brats! Love the side. Missed National Hot Dog Day/Month & National Bratwurst Day.
Really... I'm patriotic... I am. Must step up & contribute next year.
Thanks so much for your participation & post.

The Miller is really best when very cold, just starting to freeze. I missed bratsgiving today, but will make up for it tomorrow.
Mine will be served Sheboygan style, sliced in half length wise and grilled both sides, then cut in half again and served on a hamburger
bun with brown mustard, like they used to do at Road America, (America's National Park of Speed).

Thank you for your comments everyone!

Robert... I may have missed it too if it hadn't been for Jim Lampe's post last week "Coincidence? I think not"

Nicely done sir! How did I miss Bratsgiving? I wonder if they would mind if I celebrated a few days late?

Regards,

John
