Hopefully a few have been worthwhile.

First to set the mood with the original version.

I bought a Santa Maria grill from Costco last week, and did a KBB burn in it to prepare it for Sunday's cook.

Picked up some hickory wood.

On Sunday I fired up some sparkling Cowboy lump.

Seasoned a trimmed tri tip with salt, granulated garlic, and pepper only.

Burned down some logs.

It looks small on the 20" X 30" grate.

Cooked a little bacon and onion on the Performer.

Added stove cooked pinquito beans and a can of hot Rotel tomatoes.
Used a piece of peach wood to smoke 'em.

T-tip done.

Served with garlic bread and fresh made salsa fresca.

Everything was excellent, one of my best tri tips yet!

My Maria won't replace my Weber grills, but the wow factor, and playing with fire makes her a great addition to my addiction.

I thank you, 7,000 times, for putting up with me!

Bob congrats on the grill she is a beaut, and again congrats on the 7000.

Oh, almost forgot, that is a picture perfect meal, extremely well done Sir!

What can I say Bob - another fabulous cook! Everything looks perfect…and congrats on the new grill! You're going to have a lot of fun with that!

And ALL of your 7000 posts have been valuable (although I haven't read EVERY one....) :D

ok ok, nice grill, nice cook yadda yadda,.......but, I gotta ask......Is that a propane tank attached to a chimney starter? Did I miss a new product or one's invention?.......................d

Excellent looking Santa Maria style cook Bob, you broke that pit in right!!! Congrats on the new pit, your gonna love it.

Nice work Bob!! Looks like you broke in the new grill right!! Sweet looking rig you got there and your cowboy meal looks perfect!!

Fun stuff!

Thanks everyone!

David,
I bought the propane lighter and chimney a couple of years back, on sale for I think about $30.
Haven't used it much, since I light off the Performer on the deck.
But it will come in handy on the patio.
Not sure if they still make them.
Oh, and it has a 2 pieces of metal for the burner to turn it into a stove.

Bob congrats on 7000 and the new grill. I haven't seen the grill at our Costco but I'll be looking. Not many folks can do 7000 and have them all contain the quality of yours. I'm sure I'm not the only one here when I say I look forward to each of your posts.

That's a a beautiful grill and beautiful cook.

Congrats 7,000 post. Cheers my friend and here's to another 7,000.

I just past 5,000 and now realized I spend alot of time here. I don't do Facebook or any other social media. I like it here with other adults that have the same passion as I do. :)

Right On Bob. A perfect Santa Maria Cook-Even down to the Pinquinto Beans and the authentic Santa Maria Tri-Tip Rub. The music was even appropriate. I have been looking at Santa Maria grills for some time now. I understand the appeal.

Great find on that grill!!! Perfect size. Way to go on your 7000 and such a welcome addition to TVWB. You are really one of foundation rocks of this forum.

Congrats on your 7K Bob and on the new grill. Looks like it's going to be fun to cook on. The TT looks awesome!!

since the Rams moved from southern California to St Louis , seems appropriate southern California barbeque should move to St Louis too.
And in a Major League way to boot!
Fantastic lookin' Tri Tip dinner Mr. Correll! Actually, OUTSTANDING is more the word!
Your SM looks perfectly at home!

Congratulations with the 7000!
