Finally got the Mangal-Grill set up & will be doing a beef fillet, (picanha style), with roasted skewered veggies. Back later. :)

This made me chuckle. :D (I believe this accessory isn't available in the US).

Tony - That looks like a serious BBQ weapon. I can't wait to see it in action. Maybe we should start some sort of NATO (North Atlantic Trade Organization) to overcome Weber's quirky marketing schemes. We can swap you guys SJs and you can send us the Mangal in return...

Regards,

John

That's bad ***! I really wish they sold those and the other accessories and kettle colors here in the U.S.

Can't wait to see your cookup.

Well, first things first. This was fun & I need some practice. But it turned out better than I expected.

Here goes. Fillet steak, sliced to 1" along with a skewer of veggies.

Going indirect with a couple of chunks of mesquite.

Choo-choo!

The meat was taken to an IT of 115F, then seared over the coals for 1 minute either side. Veggies just getting finished & flat-breads heating up.

We had sides of cider/bacon beans and a julienne salad. This is not a good plated pic. But I put it up because that steak was cut with a fork! Tasted beautiful.

As I said before, I need some practice with this. But I enjoyed using it, & it will be used a lot this summer. Thanks for looking.

:)

John, if the prices were comparable, I'd take you up on that offer! :)

Come on Tony we love a favorable trade imbalance over here... How much did that thing cost in American moolah? Maybe we can work something out...

J

US$150.00!!

I think you can pick up a SJ Silver for US$30 and change from Lowes....hee hee. :)

Now, if you could source a Ranger for me we could definitely pow-wow!! :D

US$150.00!!

$150 seems a bit steep to me Tony - especially when I have a steel drum in the garage wating for my OTS Maxi Smoker project. I bet I could use a piece of that to make my own mangal grill. Anyway, if you want an SJ, we can probably figure out a way to get you one...

Regards,

John
