Look What I Found!

Pork Steaks! I stopped in a grocery store I never shop at and not only found them, but they were half price. 5 of them was around $4, so I couldn't say no-- especially after complaining in 457 other posts that I couldn't find them around here. I followed the procedure of Pork Steakmasters Bob and Jim: marinated in Wickers (a clone since I can't get the real thing here), rubbed, cooked low and slow with some hickory smoke, sauced, plated and devoured. These were paired with some homebrew black IPA and a twice baked potato casserole. I would definitely do them again, but I'd like them to be twice as thick next time.

Thanks for looking!

Damn I'm hungry...looks good. I honestly don't think I've ever heard of a pork steak other than in the movie "The Boys in Company C" good flick by the way.

Mmmm...pork steaks! Did you cook all 5 of them? If not, if they're fairly thin try cooking them over direct heat as if they were pork chops. The fat gets nice and crisp...

Jon, those pork steaks look great! I'm glad you finally found them... I grew up on them. My dad has barbecued them for as long as I can remember.

How'd that black IPA turn out?! Inquiring rookie homebrewers want to know

Ah, a new member of the pork steak club I see.
Welcome to the club JD!
You did 'em proud my friend!
Only fault I can find is that you needed a Bud with them, no matter what that Lampe guy might say.;)
