Lodge Chuck Eyes

My wife got me a Lodge Sportsman's Grill for Christmas and also a Camp Chef 38" DO Table. Thought it was about time to get them out. Been pretty busy this past week and haven't done much cooking. Finally picked up some Chuck Eyes the other day so I did those on my new grill and rounded things out with some baked beans and some grilled corn. Threw in some of my garlic bread for good measure. Here's the pic's.

My new grill.

My table.

Butter and lots of chopped garlic.

Small sour dough loaves, slathered.

4 oz. peppered bacon.

Ingredients for beans.

Steaks seasoned, S & P, and getting up to room temp.

Finished the rest of these off from the last cook.

Got the bacon cooked down in my small DO.

Added some yellow onion, garlic, chili powder and red pepper flakes. Crummy pic, sorry.

Continued....

Added 28 oz. can Bush's Beans.

Threw on couple ears of corn.

Beans and Corn about done.

Garlic Bread on JJ.

Fired up the Sportsman's Grill.

Steaks on.

Bread done.

Steaks about done.

Bread.

Plated.

Well, that's it. This was a really fun cook. The Sportsman's Grill (and table) are fantastic. Going to have to play with the grill to get my grilling dialed in. The steaks were delicious. They were pretty fatty, but we just cut that off. The corn wasn't the best, but what can you expect this time of year. Hope you're all having a Happy New Year. See you next cook!

Cliff, great looking food as always. I think your photography is getting even better. That bread is jumping off the screen at me.

Thanks for laying out the ingredients in your beans. Baked beans aren't a staple in my house, but these seem to pack a punch.

Great cook! I used to have a cast iron single hibachi grill as a kid. Wish I still had it.

That table is gonna come in handy. Just count the coals right on the table and position the DO over them. I'm jealous!

I love those CI grills, and I have been eyeballing that grill table. I doubt I'd ever use it like it's designed, but it'd be awesome for prep and cooking on the SJ.
Your dinner looks like something I'd like to make tonight...Or for lunch...or maybe breakfast...have to go.

Your going to love it my friend, use mine a couple of times a month. It is especially good when there are just two or three to feed or for a quick cook. Love your steaks

A great way to break in the new toy, Cliff! The chuck eyes look beautifully cooked, and that garlic bread has me drooling.

Thanks everyone. Appreciate all the comments. I don't have a wonderful outdoor grilling area like Jim and lots of you do. YET. I do use my 10 x 10 foot yard canopy. It works great. Keeps me and the cookers dry in bad weather or out of the sun in the hot months. These tables are fantastic for that. They are great for CI Cooking, Smoky Joe, Jumbo Joe or the 14" WSM. Takes bending over out of the equation. Great for your prep food, bowls, ATC's etc. too.

Cliff,

Nice job on those steaks man! I have been wanting to get the Lodge Sportsman for a while now. I will have to figure out how to get my hands on one...

Regards,

John

Really nice Cliff! Like the table, If I didn't have to move everything around all the time I would love that table. I just got a 18.5 OTS for free new in the box, want to make a pizza oven with it. That is as soon as I can fine a place to put it without getting the "look" from Barb. The sportsman is on the dream list too!
