To be honest thinner is better for grilling not sure it has as much impact in a smoker. Maillard reaction is better with thinner rod vs thick. Fancy lines vs more flavor. I want flavor.Received the Hunsaker grate, it is not as thick as the KG but it is a damn nice grate and I consider it a real bargain at $59 shipped.
Not that I’ve ever done it yet but it should make for a great easy spin grate.
