I would like to apend a year on the Yucatán Peninsula eating great food and cave diving.
Alaska is on our bucket list as well.
We live about at the the furthest northwest point of the lower 48.
Wifey wants to to spend a summer driving up and exploring that area.
JAPAN, loved it when I was stationed there, the people are nice and friendly, kids would run up to you and practice their english on you, beer was good also.
Spain. I walked the Camino de Santiago Frances. If I had a year I might walk 2 or 3 different routes. In month met people from many countries and almost every continent.
I would be happy just to stay here in Arizona, so much to see and do as long as I could travel without worrying about the covid and masks and things.
I'm also a big fan of the author James Herriot who wrote about his life as an English country veterinarian. They have walking tours of the country areas that he worked in but alas my walking days are over, although that would have been something I would have loved to do but it wouldn't take a year to do.
Argentina. Especially the southern part. Seems like a really cool place, and the south American cuisine and Malbec wines in that region would be awesome.
