IF WE COULD GO BACK IN TIME........

There were two life changing events that happened to me. One at age 18; the other at 20.
Good or bad, can't change things that have happened but I wonder how life for me would (could) have been much different than it is now.

OK... we need the appropriate theme song for this topic:
If I Could Turn Back Time

(BTW- not a Cher fan.)

If I could change things,“Twenty Eight”. Just before I got married to my Ex-wife!

Sorry Joan, that is probably not how you meant it. 😆

Frank, a Huey Lewis track might also be applicable...

I had a life changing event when I was 22 that I will always be dealing with.

In reality Joan, I was in my 20’s in the 1980’s. It was before the internet and although interest rates were high, I had no debt and was really enjoying my life. I have led a wonderful life in general but the years with less responsibility were just more carefree. 🙂

ha ha I'm thinking along the same line. I would like to go back to right after my divorce and when it was just me and my daughter. I would love to have those days when she was 2 years old.

I guess for parents, it's hard to think of changing anything that would prevent the birth of their children, but I would love to go back to those days of being young and single and be able to sit at the kitchen table and have breakfast with my mother, father, brother and sister (all gone) at least one more time.

If I could go back in time and know what I know now than I would like to go back to 1974, the year I turned 18. If I could just go back in time and that is all than I would go back to when I was in my early 30s. Young, healthy, strong, and had at least a small clue as to what life was really about.

I think 1984 , and instead of buying that Brinkman water smoker, I'd known about the existence of a Weber WSM. Could've saved myself 18 years of frustration.

I even bought a book that year " Cooking With Fire and Smoke " by Steven Schultz, that could've helped me make great ribs on the WSM.

I grew up in the 80’s, the greatest decade man has ever known, I would go back to ‘85. I was just a kid, summers were carefree, no responsibilities aside from taking the trash out, cleaning my room, etc. But I grew up in the perfect sized town, we had everything a kid would want but small enough to know everyone. Ahhhhh, those were the days……

Summers were like the movie Sandlot for us, Baseball/whiffle ball games everyday, swimming, all the things a kid enjoys. Rode bikes anywhere we wanted to go, just be home before the streetlights came on. 😂

7-11. A post in the Sardines thread yesterday got me thinking about childhood. I'd need to choose an age after 6 because of a horrific first grade.

7-11 would give me good camping, fishing, and bicycle years. And pretending I was Mannix or occasionally the bad guy.

I feel like I have turned back time. Watching a couple of the old "Dick VanDyke Shows" that they have put out in color.
