Looks pretty well madeI actually have my eye out for a Holland. A friend of mine is looking for one to convert it into a custom drum smoker.
I think I'm a little over an hour away, and I don't want my wife to stab me in my sleepThat is very interesting! I have a hard time believing that was red to begin with. Just because those red lids have held up so well. I currently own 10 red lid x000 Genesis grills and I have yet to see one faded. At first I thought maybe it was a chocolate brown in strange lighting situation but I don't know. The color looks pretty uniform all over. Even in the corners behind the handle. Also I don't know if that black handle is original to that lid or if it was painted black but I have seen those black durawood on a few of the chocolate brown grills I've seen. But the rest of the durawood slats are gray. I'd be very curious to see it in person if it was close in my area.
Oooh maybe pass on that one then lolI think I'm a little over an hour away, and I don't want my wife to stab me in my sleep![]()
I love rotisserie chicken as well, I do 2 at a time on the summit 650Gotta say that I am REALLY happy with the first whole bird off the roti!!!! I can't believe I've never had one before.... I was 'this may years old' when I finally figured it out. I think this will become my new favorite way of doing whole birds - the Redhead really does it justice!!! Such an even cook.... and the smoke tube actually worked VERY well too.... there would never be a time I WOULDN'T use it.
That price is awful hard to beat!I just picked up two big juicy rotisserie chickens from Costco for $4.99 eachbreak them down when I get home and separate the white meat and the dark meat. Cook down the Bones and skin in the Crock-Pot tonight for broth and make chicken soup tomorrow.

Here’s mine as finished. It appears to be a likely color match IMO…Here's a picture of that Grill next to a chocolate brown one. One of Tom's pre-restoration grills.

I'd say next to each other that looks like a match. Also not very common.
I know.... I know..... The whole idea behind getting a roti was to 1) give me a reason to actually use my Redhead and SilverB 2) conserve charcoal and 3) not feel bad about cooking only one chicken at a time.... Going into the dark season with 3 1/2 tanks of propane and a roti that makes GREAT meat on the gasser with little effort is a win-win all around! Mr Moriarty has said that he will hook me up with a kettle ring when I am ready to 'progress' to kettle..... I'm happy playing around with the gassers for now! The smoke tube is nice with the roti ---- I plan on trying a couple of briquettes and chunks of wood in the gasser next. They’re even better over charcoal!
Good looking grill Tom!
