I will just leave this here

Josh, I have picked up dozens of Genesis 1000-5000 grills and I can honestly say that maybe one or two had a handle that was in that good of condition. Same thing with wood slats.
I wonder why that is. It's extremely wet here in Washington. Maybe people will keep them covered more here or something. Or maybe Jon got all the good ones already. I can't imagine how many could be built out of the parts he has.

I think Jon would confirm that scarcity of good Genesis 1000 wood grills around here. I am not sure why the Seattle area is easier on the wood than here. Maybe the freezing and thawing that we go through from November through March every year.??? I don't know, but you seem to come up with grills with much less rust as well.

That is incredibly odd that in the PNW those things are abundant and in remarkable shape. I’ve gotten lucky with a handful of the 1/1000’s, but I’ve seen a lot of them that are just shot. Short of a couple useable pieces.

I've only seen one bad frame in person. It's a grill that I picked up that was transported here from California. Rusted where the bolt goes to the cook box on the left side.

The ones I find in Arizona on average are even better.
