I will just leave this here

The table looks like you might get by with cleaning. You can repaint with a Rustoleum hammered dark gray, but if you can keep the factory finish it is made better than what you can lay down with a rattle can. Maybe just a small touch up here and there?

That's a very nice one! Hope you have fun with it and then flip for a profit to boot!

Keep us posted about the CharQ. If you get it, I hope you will like it so much it will become a keeper :smilekettle: .
I agree the best route with the table is clean and just touch up spots.

If you do end up keeping it, do yourself a favor and hook it up to a larger LP tank instead of the 1lb bottle.

I feel like my place in Arizona is an excellent area for picking up grills also but I'm not too sure about selling there.
Yeah, dry rust-free old grills!

I think you posted the old Jr. (actually a very first year XX). I thought the XX I did was possibly the only one in the country! I guess there is at least one more.

I wish there was a cost-effective way to get it disassembled and shipped to me. I rue the day I sold the one I worked so hard on for a low price to a young lady that had no clue or care about its place in Weber history. She just said, "It's cute!" I wish I could have a second chance.

I haven't used a Charcoal grill in years. I used my roommates Kettle several years ago and my parents Kettle and small travel grill for camping. I haven't personally owned one myself. @Jon Tofte I have been able to secure the Char-Q but we are close on price in negotiation.
I did on the other hand pick-up this Performer today for Free. I haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet but regardless of what I do with it or whether I keep it or not i'll definitely grill some meat on it. I remember making some great Ribs on my roommates Kettle.

As far as condition the table top could use refinishing but the kettle is in great shape with no marks or chips.

Good to see you finally picked one up! I'm betting you will love it if you take some time to figure it out.
I always thought the gas assist was pretty damn cool --- but I find that the chimney starter works so much better and quicker. Don't know why the guy thought he needed smoke boxes for a kettle....?.....?

If you put the time into learning how to use the beauty Josh ---- I will gladly gift you some really nice plum wood and oak barrel staves ---- AFTER you dial it in. I still have the second SS SilverB door that I'd cut down for you for a cheap SloNSear too.....

Once you go smoke ---- you NEVER go back to 'just grilling'.

As I've found, Josh, you can get some real deals if you're patient, but selling is another thing! That table top looks great btw. I'm with Jim on the chimney starter, always thought the gas on my old 98 was something I didn't need. I'm with Josh though-gassers or now poopers, charcoal is too black and messy! LOL

Yes I posted that one months ago. I have it saved and it taunts me lol. There is also a Jr. In Oregon just out of my range for now. I may just make the trip some day if it's still available. Jon I really want 1 or 2 more. Someday I may show up at your place to buy your Red one. Ideally I'd like to get a black lid Jr. Since I already have a red one. Or I may just make an offer on that NOS black Jr. on eBay and have it shipped. Or see is @Paul Warner will sell me one.

I’m confused by this. I’m assuming you’ve used a performer? Gas assisted chimney lighting is where it’s at. Or putting coals in the baskets and placing them over the flame.

I used to try to light the coals in the baskets over the assist --- took too long. I have tried lighting the chimney over the assist but that seems inefficient --- I've got a stack of newspapers so I roll 3-4 sheets in the bottom of the chimney and 10-15 minutes later the coals are in the kettle and rolling. The assist 'should' work well - but it only lites a few coals and more time is needed to catch the others.... chimney with paper works much better/faster for me.

Jon I would be happy to help you anytime with nothing expected in return but this one is a 5 hour+ round trip from my house in AZ. and then it's still a long way from you. Now if I was retired I'd road trip it to you in a heartbeat. I will keep my eye out and if there is a way I'll always help you.

Oh man, when I was still a smoker (glad I gave that up and don’t judge anyone who does smoke), I would dump the coals in the chimney and light a smoke. Ignite the burner and when my cigarette was about done, kill the propane. Let it roll a few more minutes and dump in the baskets. Move them according to cook and put the lid down with a good 2-3” air gap. By the time I came back with the meat it was perfect. Every time.

It says unused and judging by that cook box it looks to be true.

Id pay $500-$600 but I'm not quite ready to pay $900+shipping.
Wow, I have somehow managed to miss seeing that one until now. It does indeed appear to be unused. I don't think I could pay that much for it either. I would sure keep an eye on the listing, he'll start getting antsy pretty soon I suspect.

It's been relisted over and over again. I wonder what kind of offer he would entertain
