I will just leave this here

In working order, I could see asking $25 with a tank, but it looks awfully rough for $60 - even if it was working.
That's what I was thinking. It's a parts grill. You would be lucky to get $25 for it with the tank in my area, but it depends on the market in your area.

This is one of my most recent pick-ups with a full tank of propane for Free. Since it still has the old quick release style LP connection and I have 3 full quick release style tanks. I threw on a set of Qulimetal 9mm SS grates and I've been using it as my main daily grill. To use up those quick release tanks.

Ah, so you have been cooking on a Genesis 1000. Cool, how do you like it?

It's holding its own next to my Genesis ii LX grills! It will definitely out live them so it's a big win. I have used a lot of Weber gassers over the years and they all grill fantastically. Just need to make adjustments from one model to the next but compared to other brand grills Webers are excellent and using a different brand at friends or familys houses makes me appreciate Weber even more. Since they all grill great for me it comes down to build quality and styling which I love about these old classic Webers. They are much more valuable to me than they are to most people. My Genesis 1000's and Jr's especially will not be sold for any amount of money. They are worth more than money to me.

So how much more BTU's does those cook boxes have on Vieluxe compared to a Genesis three burner?
The smaller 44” 4-burner version that has the same grate size as a classic Genesis 3-burner does 50,000 btus. That is the same as my 1st generation Summit of the same size. The 56” 6-burner has an output of 75,000 btus.

So you grabbed that one for free but not a blue one?! 😭

Nice score nonetheless. 🍻

Free shipping to Wisconsin?! 🤣 looking forward to it! I think rebuilt it as it came, on that one at least!
I will definitely consider that. My other G-3 is in very good condition so I should build one with that blue lid. It's not on the top of my list but I could do it after about three other grills I already have planned.

Restore one with my custom woodwork and touches but a more popular model and color than my personal favorite keepers. Blue lid, large frame with side burner. Three things I'm not into but most other people like.

Then what? Raffle it off?

I think Larry would agree that the one I bought from him got plenty of use and later sat outside in his yard and then mine. Nonetheless, it cleaned up amazingly well.

These are special grills in my opinion from the last days Weber was still totally the real deal. I think even a mediocre one would be worth the effort.
are those channel cut stainless steel grates? Thank you!
