I will just leave this here

Good luck on the Genesis II Josh. That would be a huge score...hopefully you don't find a huge surprise inside the cabinet.

You might want to offer to pay them via Venmo or Paypal or Zelle to hold it for you.
Well they wouldn't hold it for me. It went quick as expected. Oh well I'm kind of glad in a way because I have so much on my plate already.

I gotta be honest…I think my Vieluxe is one of the worst cookers in my arsenal. It’s not that it’s bad. I just find it to be average at best. Maybe it’s operator error and I just need to get it hotter before adding the food based solely on the mass of the thing. All I know for certain is that I consistently turn out better food on my other toys (13 bar 1000 series, Platinum C, front control Spirit E-310, and Q) for whatever reason. Some might call it blasphemous, but I actually prefer cooking on my Q3200 more than anything else.
Tom,
Thanks for posting that. It is the first hands on “review” I ever seen about cooking on a Vieluxe. I think it may be partly what you alluded to and Larry agreed as far as having to invest more time in the warmup. I also think that when you are fortunate as you to get the crown jewel of Weber grill history, the bar of expectation becomes really high!

At least now I will be a little more content to own a restored 1st generation Summit as my flagship gas grill. It is a great cooker as gas grills go.

I’m going to keep an eye on this. Asking $200. If I can get it for $100 I may go for it… I’m going to try and make a bottom panel for the E/S genesis grills. I’m curious if the s4xx summits share the same cart/frame. I think the summits are a bit wider. But if I went for it I would put the black lid and doors back on, and sell my S330 and keep the summit.

That particular Summit in the picture may already have a compromised cook box based on the grease on the lower lip of the lid.

do all summits have a weak cook box? This pic is the best I can see the front of the cook box. I see the control panel is greasy looking the entire length of it.

Ranch kettle in grand rapids, mi.
$300

Bruce, since joining this forum in May (at your urging), I have purchased 5 different Weber grills... just picked up a barely used Q-100 today. If I went and got this Ranch Kettle, my wife would stuff me in it along with some 'fried green tomatoes', and you'd never hear from me again... :giggle:

That was you?! I posted on your Facebook post that I sent that link to my brother. My grandfather had one of these that used to hang in the garage. At some point it was gifted to a family friend (I was 8-10 when it went missing from the garage). I’ve been on a hunt for one forEVER. Glad it went to a good home!!

Edit - I read your post wrong. 🤦🏻‍♂️

Oddly, the FB listing for that Ranch Kettle has been removed. I was curious if it had wooden handles. The only reason I would get one would be for the novelty factor, as the stamping itself is impressive, but I have no need for such a huge kettle and it would need to be almost free and nearby.

Yeah. A guy in the Facebook Weber Kettleheadz group got it. So at least it went to a good home!

@LMichaels I'm thinking about grabbing this for my brother in-law. He wants a GMG. Do you know anything about the new redesigned 2.0. this one is brand new and they sell for a $1000+tax so this one would be about 50% off and still new unused. I think I should grab it but what do you think? Price is firm

I don't know much about those. Never seen them around here. But, I've heard good stuff about them. Some of their models are made by Z Grills and re-badged. Like the Silverback. But, at $500 IDK that you can go wrong
