As an example of how 'over the top' Snap-On went, this behemoth has been listed near me for several weeks (relisted recently).

I saw a Snap On grill with a mini fridge under it
 
The flame check prob shot a big blast of gas which made a fireball come up thru the grates.

Flame ? CHECK !
It was a thermo couple that you had to hold down while lighting the grill or it wouldn't light.Water heaters and gas fireplaces have a similar system today. It was only used by Weber for a few years on the higher end models. It's very rare to see a grill with the button and thermo couple still in place.
 
I think it was just some junk grill maker that paid Snap-On a big chunk of money for the rights to put their logo on their grills so they could sell their junk grills for 2 to 3 times more than they were worth. I would think SnapOn would consider it a mistake for having done so.
