I will just leave this here

Will a Genesis 2000 Cookbox work in a Genesis Gold frame?
OK, you can drop a Genesis 1000-5000 cook box into a Silver or Gold frame. However, the cook box is slightly wider (left to right). This would require moving the bracket where the igniter mounts and the control panel is fastened onto over about 3/4". This would mean cutting it out and welding it back in about 3/4" to the right of where it is normally.
So, yes, it will fit, but no, it will require some mods to the frame to get everything to line up again.

I know this photo says 1.25". So maybe it was 1.25" and not .75". Not sure, but it has to be moved.

Thanks Bruce! I don’t mind an easy modification like that. Especially since it’s not visible when complete. I can section in chunks of frame, but I am a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to paint finishes. Even if it’s on a school bus! 🤣

Thanks Josh!

Yeah just picked this up for $100 cad, Josh has been my enabler and been confirming with him If it's a good buy.

Wondering what is that black rod that is in one of the pictures I am holding.

Also seems.like another sent of "top grills" but it doesn't fit anywhere.

I had picked up a Weber 2013 special edition genesis that I did a clean on and am using as daily driver.

Any tips for what I should, I am all ears..I think this is either a 3000 or I've read 5000?

Speaking of Q's... I came across the following 2 photos from a recent review on the official Weber-Stephen website. The reviewer left 1 star, citing safety issues with their particular Q model.

Does anyone know which Q model this might be, and what may have failed? In the second photo, it's rather obvious the user/owner of the grill did not follow basic protocol of where to use a grill, but fortunately they had a spigot & hose nearby. It appears the photos were taken shortly after the incident, as the area is still wet and the scorched walls indicate the situation was serious.

I like the design and concept behind the Q, but I've had nagging concerns about the use of a plastic/composite frame with these grills.

Q1200 the smallest one

Weber is good at confusing people.

That rod is likely for your left hand swing shelf. It should stay up in the same way the right hand one does. I imagine the plastic slide clip is broken on it.

Left hand one is good, when I checked. I'll take pictures when I get home and confirm.

Any idea for that extra grill "top" and what in the world is this small roller lol

Thanks again folks

Not sure what you mean by extra grill top but on the roller thing, I think you are referring to the counter balance for your rotisserie.

Question: Can you simply take a Genesis Silver Gas grill and convert it to Propane by just changing the manifold are all else equal?
