I will just leave this here

We seem to be seeing an unusual number of different versions of these Weber "glass door" grills, I didn't think there were that many left!

Does anyone have any idea what is cobble jobbed onto the back right side of this grill's cook box?

I am stumped on that one!

As 2-burner grills go, at least it is a Skyline. I lifted the hood from one of those and put it on a later Silver A with the swing table and cabinet.

Before I made my all-out Skyline 3-burner, I had thought of doing similar with the larger hood and a late Silver C body. But that meant giving up the 13-bar firebox, so I went with wood slats. On these Silver As, the old and new are fully interchangeable with the same firebox.

I guess it could be for a rotisserie, but it is way to far back and must rotate forward. Then if you mount a motor on it, it seems like it would be on the wrong side and get in the way of the burner knobs.
Hmmm. I think I will message the guy and just ask.

Unfortunately, as shown in one of the other photos, they drilled a pair of holes through the cook box to mount it.
Of course, there are already pre-drilled holes for the rotisserie on the other side, so maybe not a big deal?
