I will just leave this here

First time I have seen a Genesis data sticker like this one. Notice the serial number. I think it was just misprinted with data being printed up one field higher than it should be.

Who got this one?

I messaged her at 8:30 am yesterday and she replied had a buyer interested Was listed for 3 hours. This morning she informed me it was sold

Pretty in pink?

I just picked up an exact duplicate of that grill. It is definitely not burgundy, but the guy selling it called Weber and they told him it was "Burgundy". But it is way too light for burgundy. Pink is a better choice.

Bruce, I doubt I have anything you would need or want. I think I would have a lot more fun picking through your stuff. I think pretty much everything that isn't porcelain coated can be made nice again with some effort. The biggest thing that slows my roll is not being able to get new control panels. I don't want to do a complete restoration on a grill to put a faded and chipped one on that you have to look at every time you use the grill. I wished I liked the Silver B more, you can still get drip trays and control panels for the later ones. Maybe I should pick one up and see if I can get wood tables to work with one, that would probably improve my opinion of them. I don't have a problem with the way they cook, I just don't like the plastic tables.

Steve, show the silver B’s some love! This was my “leftovers” genesis which was a Silver B at birth! Took off the old grey plastic parts and replaced with african teak shelves, works best with the 4 sided lower frame to accommodate the lower shelf. And before you say, yes, the wheels are on wrong side!

Seems like a lot of grills showing up on CL and FB MP for way over what they are worth this year. This is a bit of an extreme example, but $500 for a two burner Spirit???

Here is a similar for $300

That one is a reach too far, but I have to say that having seen the prices on new grills today at Home Depot, I can at least see where people might be getting their ideas from. Kettles and WSMs have gone up - A LOT! A nice "premum" (not MasterTouch) kettle is now $229. Over $500 for a 2-burner Spirit II. Even the modest amount of accessories they carry were very pricey. Over $20 for a charcoal grate (not the cooking grate - those are now $40!) for a 22" kettle.

The other thing I noticed at this Home Depot (Crawfordsville, IN - I was there on a short trip) is that while they had a good selection of Weber charcoal grills and at least had a section for Weber accessories, gas grills were very few and far between. Of course, no SmokeFires, as I don't believe Home Depot ever put them on their floor. Traegers were there, though, and in front of the store was a sea of Dynaslugs and NextGrillsToFail. I am not a retail expert, but I have to believe that Weber is getting pinched by loss of floor space at these stores.

Jon might be onto something. Everything is more expensive now new, so the used asking prices are getting buoyed up too…

My closest Home Depot still has a fleet of assembled Weber Genesis and Spirit units amassed out front, but the store is definitely usually pushing a heavily-discounted Dyna-Glo or similar as opposed to the Webers. There’s also a super flimsy-looking offset that often occupies a prominent spot near the barbecue stuff.
