I will just leave this here

I have one that someone did the same thing too. My metal scrapper guy is picking that and other grill parts up today.

That's actually a 3400, but why quibble. That's a really nice example, although still a little pricey.

This is a pic from the FBM post. what's the difference between a Genesis 5000 and a Platinum 3400 ??

Durawood and some graphics on the lid and the glass doors?

Pretty much, the Platinum series grills have different model numbers than the regular grills. My 1998 Platinum series is a 1200 and not a 1000 for example. My Skyline is also a 1200. I'm not going to pretend I understand why they did it that way though.

This series befuddles me... interesting concept, but I wonder how many glass doors have fallen victim random impacts and breakage.

A few I'm sure. It is interesting though that all of the ones I've ever seen for sale or on this site ( not a ton) have all had their doors intact.

I imagine those glass doors are made out of the same kind of stuff as the old Correlle dishes were made out of. I have them now. You can drop them from waist level on a wood floor and most times they won't break. BUt, if they do, look out.

A pile of “diamonds” on your floor! Happened in my dorm with my amusingly similar stereo cabinet.🤣

I am not real familiar with those. Never seen one in person. But that lid handle looks strangely large.

I can’t say that I’ve ever seen one in person myself. Maybe years ago on display in a store…

The handle isn’t the issue, though.
