An annoying part…

I am now working on restoring a Genesis 330 - a little here and there between tax returns. One part that really annoys me about these grills is the J-clip that provides a way for the thin bottom panel to be bolted to the side frames. On every one of these I have disassembled, these clips are always rusted.

I decided to get out an old container of a product similar to Evaporust. I plunked in my collection of these clips and let them soak for over a day. It worked pretty well removing a lot of accumulated corrosion.

I do this occasionally and it works well.
Once, I forgot and left them in for about 2 months.
Virtually all of the liquid was gone and had turned
into a pale green, cottage cheese-like substance.
 
Never mind, apparently he uses all different types of grills on that show.

Yeah in two epidodes he's used a ranch kettle, a WSM, a 22 inch kettle, an XL BGE, the gasser, a four burner stove, a China box, and a charcoal rotisserie grill.
